Girl Scout Gold Star Award: The Workshop

Scientific Sounds of Art is a music workshop started by Tori Watson for her Girl Scout Gold Star Award. She took on the issue of students not being able to purchase musical instruments in under-served communities with little to no funding for the music and arts programs. Since instruments are expensive to purchase, students learn to create their own instruments at home with recycled materials from the workshop. Now the workshops will be continued by Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center high school's orchestra.
